Briar Hill has a rich and storied history. Sitting on 10 acres that were actually host to a British encampment during the Battle of Monmouth (for history buffs), Briar Hill has been family owned and operated by one family across three generations. It was founded as a nursery school in 1968 by Dale and Betsie Lynn. A summer camp joined the school in 1976. Over the past 50+ years, thousands of students and campers have laughed, played, and learned on the grounds of Briar Hill. We have watched families grow while welcoming new siblings into our programs. We have watched campers grow to become CITs, counselors and even group leaders. We have watched students and campers return as parents to another generation of students and campers.
In the summer of 2012, Dale and Betsie’s oldest son, Mark Lynn, and his wife, Maiya, chose to continue the family tradition of running Briar Hill. They both have many years of experience running the family business, and are committed to continuing the family tradition. All of Mark and Maiya’s children have attended Briar Hill, and all have worked at Briar Hill in multiple capacities representing the third generation of Lynn’s at Briar Hill.
